Checkerboard Bowl:
Coral Reef Bowl:
- The bowl has many elements of art, such as shape, size, and space. The pattern of the bowl is checkerboard, and is made up of squares. The squares are very geometrical and are evenly spaced on the bowl. The squares look almost identical, because of their same size and shape. The bowl also has form, because the the squares are three dimensional. The bowl also has a rhythm, by the pattern repeating along the bowl.
- The bowl has many principles of art, such as pattern, balance, and rhythm. The pattern is checkerboard, checkerboard is simply a square and then a space. The pattern then just keeps repeating, The mood of this bowl is rustic, yet sleek. The copper color mixed with the teal makes it look rustic and ancient in a way. The bowl is also sophisticated, even though checkerboard isn't really fancy. The glaze makes the simple pattern seem sophisticated.
- I believe my bowl was very successful. I think the glaze works well with the design, glaze has two colors in it. The two colors are teal and copper, look good together. My craftsmanship is very good on the shape of the bowl, but I do wish I took more time to clean off each of the squares. I think my bowl looks neat and proportionate, because I took the time to measure each of the squares and their placement. The base of the bowl is nice, because it matches and flows with the theme.

- I believe this work was successful, because I created some of my own glaze colors. I think this piece is also successful because it is very unique and creative. The base is very unique and the extra red piece of coral makes the piece more realistic. The bowl's colors work well together, but I wish I used more vivid colors. The craftsmanship is good, but you can see brush strokes on the bowl. The glazes also bleed and blend together on some parts of the bowl.
